The Southern African Community Development Groundwater Management Institute (SADC-GMI) in collaboration with its partners hosted the 4th SADC groundwater Conference on 10 – 12 November 2021, under the theme “Towards a Water Secure SADC – Groundwater Systems Thinking”.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the conference was held virtually and designed in a manner that ensured delegates across the region and beyond effectively collaborated to find solutions to the region’s water-related challenges.
Possible Topics for discussion included Integrated Water Resource Management with a focus on Groundwater, Surface water – Groundwater interactions, Environmental Flow Requirements, Groundwater Dependent Ecosystems, Groundwater and WASH, Governance of Groundwater Resources, the WEFE Nexus.
